GREEN BAY – Green Bay Southwest boys’ basketball player Will Pytleski was recently named to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association first-team all-state list in Division 2.

Pytleski, a 6-foot-3 senior forward, helped the Trojans win the Fox River Classic Conference title for the first time since 2001.

Southwest finished 22-3 and advanced to sectional play before dropping a 66-63 game to Kaukauna.

“Honestly, it’s a great honor being on the team with Division 1 talents such as Jalen Johnson, Jamari Sibley and Johnny Davis,” said Pytleski, who averaged 21.2 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. “I couldn’t have accomplished this without my teammates. Them being so unselfish and willing to make the extra pass was what made this possible.”

Pytleski ended his career at Southwest with 1,525 points.

His point total is tops in school history.

Pytleski, who was also first-team all-conference as a wide receiver in football last fall, will attend either UW-Whitewater or UW-Eau Claire.
