Tell me about your family.

“I have an older sister named Laney who is 20 and goes to St. Thomas and my younger brother, Charlie, is a sophomore at De Pere. My dad is from the Green Bay area and my mom is from Minnesota.”

Do you come from a sports/hockey family?

“Charlie plays hockey, my dad played hockey, football and baseball in high school and my sister did soccer and tennis. She plays tennis at St. Thomas now. My mom is more of the support crew.”

Can you give Laney a game on the courts?

“I played once with her in high school and I don’t think she liked it – I wasn’t very good.”

What’s it like having your brother on the team with you?

“It’s pretty cool – we actually just got put on the same line for hockey a while back and we’ve been producing quite a bit.”

Have you always just done hockey or do you participate in other sports?

“I ran cross country from my freshman year through last year but didn’t go out my senior year.”

How about a high school sport you wish you would have done?

“Sometimes I wish I had played football.”

When did you start skating and playing hockey?

“I started skating when I was 4 years old and playing hockey at 5.”

You recently scored four goals in a game versus Appleton United and added an assist – was that your best game ever?

“I would say so, yes. I’ve had a few other games where I’ve put up points, but not like that.”

Do you have a most embarrassing moment?

“My freshman year playing Notre Dame I tried to check Michael Karow who is playing for Boston College now. He destroyed me – it didn’t end well for me.”

Have you ever been cut by a hockey skate?

“Yes, in the fifth grade. I fell on the ice and going to the bench, I felt something on my ankle. I had a pretty deep cut – it didn’t heal very quickly.”

How would you do as a goalie?

“I wouldn’t be that good, but I think I’d be alright – if that makes sense.”

What three words best describe you?

“Leader, fun, hard-working.”

Is there something about you the average person wouldn’t know?

“If I eat any kind of nuts, I’d have a severe allergic reaction.”

Finish this sentence: On Sunday mornings you can usually find me …

“Sleeping in my bed.”

How will Murphy Eggers be remembered at De Pere?

“As someone who was funny but could be serious, too. Also, as someone who was a leader and successful in high school.”

Dogs or cats?

“Dogs.”

Lie on the beach or ski down the slopes?

“Lie on the beach.”

The NHL or college hockey?

“College.”

Carpet or hardwood?

“Carpet.”

Winter or summer?

“Summer.”
