AHSWAUBENON – The Ashwaubenon school board accepted a resignation and approved a series of new hires at its regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday, July 11.

Beth Hibbard resigned from her part-time (.8 full-time equivalent) speech and language instructor position at Pioneer Elementary School, effective at the end of the 2017-18 school year. Posting to fill the vacancy is underway.

The board’s teacher/professional new staff hires for this coming school year include:

• Casey Weber to a Parkview Middle School grade 7 social studies (.83 FTE)/high school social studies (.17 FTE) position. Weber will be placed as a full-time, initial licensed instructor on the wage scale at Step 5, Lane A, $44,171.12. The position is .83 FTE at the middle school due to enrollment, while the high school FTE is a reassignment from instructors who would have been on an overload for 2018-19.

• Jason Fisch to a part-time, .8 FTE physical education instructor position at the middle school. Fisch will be placed as a professional licensed instructor at Step 7, Lane F, $47,089.94. The position is available due to the retirement of Amy Steavpack and is being replaced at .8 FTE of her 1.0 FTE.

• Rodney Lohrentz to a full-time grade 6 social studies instructor at the middle school. Lohrentz will be placed at Step 11, Lane F, with a lifetime license and 2018-19 salary of $63,498.38. The position is available due to the resignation of Sara Demerath and an internal transfer.

• Megan Diedrick to a full-time pupil services program coordinator position as of July 1. This exempt position will be compensated at an annual salary of $75,000 and is available due to the resignation of Rebecca Konkol-Kintop.

New support staff hired by the board for 2018-19 include:

• Victor Young to a full-time (1.0 FTE) educational associate-special education aide position Valley View. Young will be paid $16.71 per hour. The position was vacant due to the retirement of Eileen Taylor and internal transfers.

• Megan Karau to a full-time educational associate-interpreter position at Valley view Elementary School. Karau will be placed at the first step of the interpreter classification pay schedule at a rate of $20 per hour. This is a new position due to enrollment.

• Debra Vorpahl to a part-time (.57 FTE) educational associate-library aide at the middle school. Vorpahl will be placed at the first step of the aide classification pay schedule at a rate of $15.73 per hour. The position is available due to the retirement of Janice Eggener. Two part-time positions are being hired to replace a full-time position.

Board members also approved 45 co-curricular positions for the coming school year with the largest amount, $5,150, going to Scott Conradt as the middle school athletic director, followed by $4,800 going to Mark Jonas as the head varsity football coach at the high school.
