Lady Pirates Zero in on Conference Title

ASHWAUBENON – The Lady Pirates swim and dive teams have won three Fox River Classic Conference titles in a row. Number four should soon be in the bag.
Bay Port improved to 5-0 in conference dual action with a 124-61 win over Ashwaubenon on October 5 at Ashwaubenon High School. The Pirates’ Brightyn Zuelke, Sasha Sliwinski and Ella Thibert swept the top three placings in the one-meter diving event. In addition, all three relay teams (200 Medley, 200 Freestyle, 400 Freestyle) were victorious on the night.
Individually, Emma Lasecki and Sophia Thibert were double winners, while Erin Samels and Riley Melendy each won an event.
For Ashwaubenon, Katherine O’Connell (200 Freestyle) and Kyra Goedken (500 Freestyle) were the lone winners on the evening.
Bay Port’s junior varsity squad also came home with a 125-38 victory.

Notes: The FRCC championship meet for both teams is on October 28 at Ashwaubenon, with WIAA sectionals the next weekend. The state meet will be held in Madison on November 10-11 at the UW Natatorium.
