ASHWAUBENON — On Wednesday, May 15, Woodside Senior Communities broke ground on their newest development, “The Promenade.”
Located at 2305 San Luis Place, Ashwaubenon, this new complex specifically caters to the 50 plus active adult community.
As the crowd gathered to support this groundbreaking event, Jessica Atkinson, executive director of campus living, and Polly Gretzinger, executive director of campus operations, spoke on the unique features of The Promenade.
“The Promenade, which you see coming to life behind us already, is going to be an 83-unit active adult community. The building will have five floors and will be an assortment of one and two bedroom apartments with multiple floorplan options. There will be many amenities to keep our active adults, who are aged 50 plus, engaged with their neighbors who are at the same stage of life as them,” shared Atkinson.
These amenities will include heated underground parking, a dog park, pickleball courts, a heated outdoor pool, wellness center and fitness studio, golf simulator, clubhouse rooms for entertainment and, most uniquely, its own branch of the Brown County Library.
As Ashwaubenon’s President Mary Kardoskee explained to the group, the idea of building a new branch of the library has been in the plans for many years.
After difficulties finding a location, Kardoskee said “Finally we came up with the perfect spot for our new library.”
The facility has a planned opening date of July 2025.
