GREEN BAY — The Green Bay West Wildcats earned a 69-54 win over the Green Bay East Red Devils in their Friday, Jan. 10, match up.
“The game started off a little slow, then we started to pick it up towards the end of the first half. We got some big shots and then the momentum swung our way,” said West Wildcats Head Coach Malcolm Moore.
This win propelled the Wildcats to an 8-3 overall record this season, taking them to third place in the Bay Conference standings behind only West De Pere and Xavier.
“It’s our rivalry game so we knew it would be competitive and there would be a big crowd and loud noises. We hit some big shots when we needed. We knew what this game was going to be like and we came prepared,” said Moore.
Several players had big nights to help bring their team the win in Sam Hemery who brought his team 22 points, Braedin Jacobson who had 15 points on the night, and Brandon Wilson who led his team with 23 points.
“I like the energy. We’re playing like more of a team this year,” said Brandon Wilson. “We have worked for this moment every single day. We come to work and today we stood on business.”
The West Wildcats are gearing up to face Menasha on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
