WIAA softball brackets released

BROWN COUNTY – The WIAA released the brackets for the upcoming softball postseason.

Locally in Division 1, Ashwaubenon is the No. 1 seed and will host the winner of No. 9 Bay Port/No. 8 Kimberly May 23.

In May 21 games, No. 3 Pulaski will host No. 14 Green Bay Southwest, and No. 6 De Pere will entertain No. 11 Appleton West. The winners of those two games will play for the regional crown May 23 at the highest remaining seed's venue.

Also, No. 4 Green Bay Preble will host No. 13 Green Bay East, and No. 5 West De Pere will host No. 12 Appleton East, with the winners also playing for a regional crown May 23 at the highest remaining seed's field.

Sectionals will begin May 28, with the state tournament beginning June 6 in Madison.

In Division 2, No. 9 Notre Dame Academy lost 8-4 to No. 8 River Falls May 16 to end its season.

In Division 5, No. 10 Green Bay NEW Lutheran lost 15-5 to No. 7 Gresham May 16.
