West De Pere’s Kliment and Schneider get perfect 36 ACT scores

Posted

DE PERE – West De Pere High School junior students Kate Kliment, daughter of Randy Kliment and Emily Zukerman, and Alec Schneider, son of Pamela and Chad Schneider, have both earned the highest possible ACT composite score of 36.

Approximately just over two-tenths of 1 percent of students who take the ACT earn a top score.

In the U.S. high school graduating class of 2019, only 4,879 out of more than 1.8 million graduates who took the ACT earned a top composite score of 36.

The ACT is a curriculum-based achievement exam that measures what students have learned in school, consisting of testing in English, mathematics, reading and science.

Each test is scored on a scale of 1-36, and a student’s composite score is the average of the four test scores.

Students who earn a 36 composite score have likely mastered all of the skills and knowledge they will need to succeed in first-year college courses in the core subject areas.

ACT scores are accepted by all major four-year colleges and universities across the United States.

Schneider and Kliment are ranked Nos. 1 and 2 respectively in their junior class of 238 students.

Kliment has taken or will take 11 college credit and/or Advanced Placement courses in her high school career.

These academic achievements have been accomplished while participating in Mathletes, Spanish Club, Sting Cancer, National Honor Society, forensics and the English Team.

She has also been an active volunteer with senior residents at Allouez Parkside Village, the Hot Cider Hustle and the annual De Pere Community Center Youth Dance Recital.

Schneider has taken or will take 13 college credit and/or Advanced Placement courses in his high school career.

He is also a varsity basketball player, National Honor Society co-president, Spanish Club officer and a Student Against Destructive Decisions member.

Schneider has also worked at Sharper Edge Landscaping.
