Local businesses will welcome guests to sample warm drinks and sweet treats at the eighth annual Café Crawl on Feb. 21.
Hosted by Downtown Green Bay, Inc., participants will get a Café Crawl card and travel to local businesses throughout the Downtown and Olde Main St. districts for free samples between 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.
There are a range of businesses participating in the Café Crawl this year.
The options “vary from your non-traditional cafes to your favorite coffee shops,” said Mariana Vargas, events manager for Downtown Green Bay, Inc.
This list includes the following returning businesses: The Kompound, Daily Buzz Espresso Bar, Glas: The Green Coffeehouse, Lion’s Mouth Bookstore and LoCo WisCo.
There are also two new businesses participating this year: Rise and Grind Gelato and Coffee Shop and Meche’s Churros and Cafe.
In addition, there will be live music this year at Hotel Northland. Local singer and song-writer Josh Berton will be performing for the event as participants move from place to place.
Furthermore, the event will have giveaways to add more fun to the experience. As for what the prizes are, “We want that to be a little bit of a surprise,” Vargas said. “What I can share is that some of the local businesses that are participating in the Café Crawl have volunteered to put some of their merch or one of their products that they have as some of the giveaways.”
All of these activities are included because of the lack of activities in winter, as well as the importance of connection.
The event allows people to “reconnect with friends and family and do something really easy that generates conversation and memories,” said Vargas, who also shared that, as this is her first year managing the event, she is most excited for “the positive morning energy that this event brews.”
For people looking to help out with the event, volunteer opportunities are limited. “I think that incentive really helped boost the engagement for volunteers,” Vargas said. Volunteers get a free Café Crawl card to use before or after their two-hour shifts. However, they are always looking for people to fill the spots that open up.
Check-in begins at 8:15 a.m. at both Hotel Northland and Grounded Café before the event starts at 8:30 a.m. Participants will be given their Café Crawl card and are allowed to move about the event at their own pace.
There will be both free parking and trolleys provided by Lamers Bus Lines available for participants to make their way between districts and businesses.
Tickets are currently on sale at eventbrite.com/e/cafe-crawl-2026-tickets-1979240400317 for $15 through Feb. 20 and $20 the day of the event.
