On August 17, 2017 at approximately 7:30pm, the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department was dispatched to the scene of a vehicle crash involving two pedestrians on French Road, just south of CTH S in the Town of Lawrence.
Upon the investigation of the crash, it appears a two door Mitsubishi driven by a 46-year-old De Pere man struck two females who were walking on French Road. The vehicle had severe damage. The females were 44 and 18 years old from Lawrence were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Medical Examiner.
It appears alcohol and speed may be contributing factors to the crash.
French road from CTH S to Golden Glow Road, will be closed for reconstruction of the accident.
The Hobart/ Lawrence Police Department is being assisted by the Lawrence Fire Department, De Pere Fire and Rescue, State Patrol, Wrightstown Police, and Brown County Sheriff’s Department.
Names are being withheld at this time pending the notification of family members. The crash is under investigation and no other information will be released tonight.
