Top area baby names in 2023 released

GREEN BAY – HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, recently released its top baby names chosen at birth in 2023.

Topping the list of boys names were Theodore and Oliver.

For girls, Charlotte and Eleanor were most favored.

The trend in baby names remains in line with the most recent data from the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Henry and Charlotte were the top names in Wisconsin, followed by Oliver and Olivia.

Olivia was also the top girls name across 27 states, while Charlotte sat in second, topping 13 states.

Henry topped the list in just four states, while Oliver was the name most chosen in 15 states.

Liam held the highest appeal in boys names, topping the list in 20 states.

Rounding out the top 10 in boys names were Liam, Theodore, Noah, Owen, Jack, Levi, William and Leo.

Rounding out the top 10 for the girls were Evelyn, Amelia, Emma, Nora, Sophia, Eleanor, Harper and Hazel.

All names from the SSA report were taken from Social Security card applications for births that occurred over the year ending March 2023.

St. Vincent’s sister hospital, HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, listed Luca and Myles as the top boys names, while Ivy and Charlotte topped the list for girls.

Information was not available from other Green Bay hospitals with labor and delivery services.
