The 18th Annual Three Rivers Roleo returns to Duck Creek Quarry Beach on July 10-11, bringing one of the nation’s premier professional log rolling competitions back to Northeast Wisconsin.
Founded in 2008 by siblings Katie Burke and Jacob Rick, the Three Rivers Roleo celebrates Wisconsin’s rich logging heritage while showcasing one of the state’s most unique and exciting sports.
The event has previously been featured on Fox Sports North, Fox Sports Wisconsin and Discover Wisconsin and is recognized as the longest-running Level 2 professional log rolling tournament in the United States.
Admission is free thanks to the support of presenting sponsors BEST Enterprises and Nicolet National Bank.
The weekend begins with amateur competition on Friday, July 10, at 4:00 p.m., featuring youth and adult competitors from across the Midwest, including several athletes from Northeast Wisconsin local log rolling programs.
Professional competition takes center stage on Saturday, July 11, beginning at 10 a.m. and
continuing until approximately 2 p.m.
A field of 28 professional athletes from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan, California and New York will compete, including all current Top 10-ranked women’s professional log rollers and nearly all Top 10-ranked men.
The field is highlighted by reigning World Champions Livi Pappadopoulos and Marcus Heineck, defending Three Rivers Roleo champions Marcus Heineck and Aini Anderson, and local professional Caleb Schloss, now competing in his second professional season.
With both reigning World Champions, all Top 10-ranked women, and nearly all Top 10-ranked men expected to compete, the Three Rivers Roleo will feature one of the most accomplished professional fields on the 2026 tour.
The competition takes place as part of Howard’s Flannel Fest weekend. Village officials expect a strong turnout following last year’s event, which drew approximately 800 spectators to Duck Creek Quarry Beach.
The Village of Howard is excited to introduce Flannel Fest, a brand-new community festival presented by Bank First, taking place Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, at the Duck Creek Quarry.
The new event was created around the 18th Annual Three Rivers Roleo Log Rolling Competition, expanding the weekend into a community festival that gives visitors even more reasons to spend the day at the Duck Creek Quarry.
“Last year, we hosted the Three Rivers Roleo and saw the opportunity to build something even bigger,” said Village Administrator Paul Evert. “We’re excited to create a new tradition where families can enjoy great entertainment, support local vendors and experience everything our community has to offer.”
The weekend kicks off Friday from 4–8 p.m. with the amateur log rolling competition. Festivities continue Saturday from 10 a.m.–5 p.m., featuring professional log rolling, artisan vendors, chainsaw carving demonstrations, food trucks, live music from 2–5 p.m., children’s activities, a fire department raft challenge and more.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket, sunglasses and sunscreen, a camera and their friends and family.
Free parking is available on-site. Bleachers will be provided, and spectators can enjoy food, beverages, vendors and other activities throughout the weekend.
