GREEN BAY – Christina Thor has been named the 2024 Young Professional of the Year by the Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce (HWCC).
This award, presented at HWCC’s 18th Annual Business Award Celebration, honors “outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to empowering marginalized communities through grassroots organizing and care-centered policies across Wisconsin.”

Several awards are granted each year, celebrating the innovation, success and impact of community leaders and businesses.
In her acceptance speech, Thor expressed deep gratitude for the recognition, saying, “I am deeply humbled and grateful. This award is not mine alone — it belongs to everyone who has been a part of my journey. I share this honor with my mentors, family, friends and community who have supported me through every challenge.”
Reflecting on her work and the legacy of her ancestors, Christina shared, “My work is deeply connected to my ancestors and their sacrifices. Each step I take is in honor of the generations before me who endured so much so that I could stand here today. This is sacred work, and I am proud to continue the legacy they have entrusted to us.”
Earlier this year, Christina was also recognized as one of Wisconsin’s Most Influential Asian American leaders in 2024 by Madison365.
