Please pay close attention because this review has one real goal and that is to help the masses realize that no matter how life gets you down, no matter how dark it looks, you can ease your troubled soul with the knowledge we were lucky enough to live at the time in human history that gave us this monster masterpiece of Montreal Garage Rock.

Strike Gold Strike Back Strike Out has it all — a heavyweight champ that can’t be overpowered, outboxed or outlasted.

You want some fast, raging rock’n’roll that has the ferocity of the Dead Boys blended with The Chocolate Watchband? It’s here!

You like songs that will make you dance like your only concern is how you will deal with the hangover at your low paying job in a mall the next morning? It’s here!

You want songs with the tenderness of the Kinks? It’s here!

You like hearing part of the song “Disco Duck”? It’s here!

You like garage band music with lyrics that might get you thinking (or reflecting) as hard as your toes are tapping? It’s here!

You like rock n roll so fresh that it flashes you back to being exposed to all these crazy new bands on New Wave Theatre watching Night Flight on the USA network late on Friday or Saturday nights in the very early ‘80s? It’s here!
Have you been waiting ever so patiently for the album that attempts and pulls off merging a Rubber Soul played by The Beatles of 1962 with The Rolling Stones Their Satanic Majesties Request but with Ron Wood and Brian Jones? This is the album.

I’m raving so much about this album because sometimes you see a band live and it’s untouchable, but the studio album doesn’t hold up to the standard you saw live.

Let me tell you, I have seen Thine Retail Simps on multiple occasions live in Memphis at Gonerfest and those performances were so brilliant you had to question can this pure rock n roll joy be duplicated in a recording studio. They have, and in an A+ fashion.

One of the reasons I love Gonerfest is because of this band and how their performances were always tops of the festival and made you glad to be alive and out participating in society, Indelible image after their last performance at Gonerfest was an esteemed garage rock dignitary giving them a chef’s kiss after the conclusion of their set.

That’s why I’m also happy to inform you, Thine Retail Simps are playing at the Green Bay UFO Museum Gift Shop and Records on Sunday, April 6.

Yes, the same night that Bob Dylan is playing in Green Bay, but even if Bobby Dylan had Mike Bloomfield and Mick Taylor with him, this is the better rock’n’roll option.

Also playing that night is the Feeling Figures (also from Montreal who share members with Thine Retail Simps), Hue Blanc’s Joyless Ones and Green Bay’s very own Smart Shoppers.

In my opinion this show is a front runner for show of the year in Titletown and is the only show that will give the GBUFO Invasion Fest 2025 a run for its money.

GBUFO Invasion Fest will feature 32 bands and take place Friday, July 25, at Badger State Brewing Company with Boris the Sprinkler headlining and Saturday, July 26, at the Riverside Ballroom with the Smart Shoppers headlining. Both days start at noon.

Please stop by the Green Bay UFO Museum Gift Shop and Records for more details on this year’s GBUFO Invasion Fest and to pick up a copy of this wonderful album.
