The Notre Dame Academy Tritons (9-0) took on the Oshkosh North Spartans (6-3) in a home conference game last Friday. This was senior night for the Tritons, and the last week for regular season play. The Tritons dominated the game with a final score of 41-7. Notre Dame Academy 2024 football team won the Southern Fox River Valley Classic Conference, and brought home the plaque.
Notre Dame’s high powered offense could not be stopped, as they continued to drive the ball down the field and score. Running Back Christian Collins finished the game with a total of four rushing touchdowns, with one going for 97 yards. “It was great to secure the win. Being 9-0 gives us confidence going into the playoffs, and we’re ready,” said Collins. Tight End James Flannigan was also able to find the endzone, and make big plays down field. “It feels good to come out and get the win,” said Flannigan. The Tritons defense was able to hold their own during the game, and held Oshkosh North’s offense to one score in the first quarter.
The Tritons look to go far in the playoffs; for this to happen, they must “play as a team and keep our foot on the gas and attack every play,” said Collins. Flannigan emphasized how practice is where you make good habits, and how that needs to happen in order to have success in the postseason.
