SUAMICO - Come hungry, leave happy.

That's what people experienced at the fourth annual "Taste at Bay Port" on September 15 prior to the Bay Port/Pulaski football game from 4:30 - 6:30.

Various vendors were on hand with food samples, which cost anywhere from $2 - $4. Soda, Gatorade and water were also available.

Anduzzi's, Dunkin Donuts, Four Way, La Java, Mustard Seed, Josephine's, Brainfreeze, Olde World Pastries Plus, Tapped and Townline were all present, while Olsen's donated the water.

All proceeds from Taste at Bay Port go to the booster club, who then uses the proceeds to provide financial support for all the student athletes at the high school.

According to Bay Port Booster Club president Jeanne Nolle, it was a very good turnout and the community support was great.

“We were thrilled with the turnout,” said Nolle. “We don’t have all of our expenses accounted for yet, but I’m guessing we collected close to $7,000.

“I’d like to thank our participating businesses, our Howard-Suamico facilities and administrative staff and our fantastic volunteers who planned and executed this community celebration. We are already looking forward to next year.”

Nolle also pointed out that the participating businesses get to showcase their food/beverages and they have been extremely generous to donate the proceeds (of what they make) to the booster club.

Team worn and vintage fan apparel was also for sale at the event.

The Pirates won the game over the Red Raiders 48-27 and improved to 5-0 overall. CLICK HERE for the full game story, video and pics.
