State dance competition held

LA CROSSE – Several area high school varsity dance teams had top-five showings in the Several area high school varsity dance teams had strong showings in the Wisconsin Association of Cheer/Pom Coaches state meet Feb. 1 at the La Crosse Civic Center.

Locally, Green Bay Southwest won a state title in Division 2 Pom, while Ashwaubenon (second), West De Pere (third) and Pulaski (fifth) also had strong performances.

In Division 1 Pom, Green Bay Preble finished fourth.

In Division 1 Kick, Preble (third) and Southwest (fourth) had top-five finishes.

In Division 2 Kick, Ashwaubenon (second) and West De Pere (third) rounded out the area results.
