Sophomores Win Bay Port Powderpuff Championship

SUAMICO - The Bay Port class of 2020 is your Homecoming Powderpuff champion.

Despite falling behind by a quick 14-0 margin, the sophomores came back to beat the juniors 28-14 in the annual game held at Bay Port High School.

The group of girls, which includes members from the state runner-up soccer team and other sports, won the championship for the second year in a row.

The all-senior Homecoming court consisted of Queen Elise Keller, King Thomas Ashley, Daniel King, Elayna Hartter, Paige Burns and Ryan Smet.

Almost 1,400 attended the Homecoming dance on October 7 at Bay Port High School.

The Pirates won the game over De Pere, 42-6, to remain undefeated at 8-0.
