On June 9, the board selected the following candidates: Samantha Meister, Miranda Schornack, Aaron Lee, Alyssa Proffitt, Brant Pearson, Matthew Seegert and Rick Crosson, who was a previous board member.
Crosson was appointed after former board member Laura Laitinen-Warren resigned in 2024, but was not reelected after his term expired.
Candidate interviews will be held on Monday, June 16.
The selected individual will fill the vacated term until April 2026, when the seat is up for election.
Their first official board meeting will be July 14, due to state law which requires a 14-day waiting period to take the oath of office.
In this case, state policy dictates that the selected member take the oath no sooner than June 30.
The Green Bay Area Public School District will provide free meals to all children during the summer months.
The first day of Summer Meals is June 11.
”Summer meals are available at no cost for all children 18 years old and younger, in our community, not only those enrolled into GBAPS or those eligible for free or reduced meal benefits. Children are allowed one meal of each type, per day. Meals are available for purchase by adults (those who are 19 and older) with cash only,” a district release stated.
