This football season, Seroogy’s Chocolates is giving fans something new to cheer about: a full-pound milk chocolate football filled with four ounces of caramel cheddar popcorn.
Beginning Thursday, Aug. 13, the chocolatier will accept pre-orders for its all-new, limited-edition Seroogy’s Chocolate Football, a hand-molded and hand-decorated creation designed to replicate the look and size of an actual football, with an unexpected surprise inside.
Each hollow milk chocolate football is filled with Seroogy’s caramel cheddar popcorn, revealed when the outer chocolate shell is smashed open.
The idea was inspired by the role football plays in Seroogy’s hometown of the Green Bay-area and the excitement surrounding the start of a new Packers’ season. Rather than simply making a football-shaped chocolate, Seroogy’s wanted to craft something interactive that would bring people together and add an extra layer of fun to game-day traditions.
“We’re in Green Bay. Football season is a big deal here, and we wanted to create something that captures some of that excitement,” said Martha Seroogy, president of Seroogy’s Chocolates. “This is really meant to be a fun, shareable experience. You bring it to a watch party, smash the chocolate football open and everyone gets to dig into the caramel cheddar popcorn inside. It’s chocolate, popcorn and football all in one, so it felt like a perfect way for us to kick off the season.”
Pre-orders for the Seroogy’s Chocolate Football opened Aug. 13 at seroogys.com. Footballs will begin shipping Tuesday, Sept. 8, arriving just in time for the Green Bay Packers’ regular-season opener on Sunday, Sept. 13.
Beginning Sept. 8, the Chocolate Football will also be available for purchase at Seroogy’s retail locations in De Pere and Ashwaubenon. Customers can also place orders by calling 920-336-1383.
