Jordan Bindas is a recent graduate of Bay Port High School and was a member of the baseball and football teams.
He plans to attend UW-Madison this fall to study engineering physics and hopes to possibly work for NASA someday.
In his spare time he likes to golf and hang out with his friends.

How do you pronounce your last name?
“Bin-das.”
Do you have any siblings?
“I have an older brother named Evan who graduated in 2016 … he goes to UW-Madison right now.”
Do you come from a sports family?
“Evan was big into football and was the FRCC defensive player of the year his senior year. My dad always tells me that he was a pretty good athlete, but never really did high-school sports. My mom played softball. My dad is from South Milwaukee and my mom is from Marinette.”
Did you ever try any other sports while at Bay Port?
“I tried basketball in seventh and eighth grade at Bay View, but that didn’t work out too well!”
How about a high-school sport you wish you would have done?
“I wish I could have played basketball, but it’s a sport you have to start young and put the time into … I started too late.”
A few weeks ago Bob Tilot told me the Bay Port baseball team can make some noise in the next two years … agree?
“I completely agree … we had a really strong underclass this year – (sophomores) Jake Berg and Call Verlanic are just tremendous athletes. I think they can do some crazy things in the upcoming years with baseball and football. Jake Plummer will be a great quarterback in football, too.”
Do you have a most memorable sports moment?
“I think this whole baseball season in general because all the guys were fun to be around and we were all friends.”
How about a most embarrassing sports moment?
“I’ve never been the greatest on my feet, so there’s been a couple of times where I’ve been running around the bases or to first and I’ve stumbled on my feet.”
What is something about you most people wouldn’t know?
“Growing up and still today, I’ve always enjoyed woodworking and just building things. I’d say I’m pretty mechanically inclined.”
Name a person you admire and why.
“I think the owner of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk is someone awesome to admire because he is driven beyond belief to achieve whatever he wants. He’s a guy that’s so successful that he can do whatever he wants. That’s a big goal of mine – to have unlimited resources to pursue any dream I have.”
What’s on your music playlist?
“I’m not really into hard-core rap, but I’d say most of my music is just upbeat and good to listen along to.”
Katy Perry?
“No, not like that!”
What three words best describe you?
“Determined, creative, athletic.”
If you could be anywhere right now, where would it be?
“I’d love to be on the beach in Costa Rica. I went there once with my family on spring break and I’ll never forget it.”
Tell me where you will be in 10 years.
“First off, I just want to make sure I get a good job in an area that I enjoy. I don’t want to travel halfway across the country, so I see myself hopefully near Wisconsin or maybe a state or two over … maybe start a family as well.”
How will Jordan Bindas be remembered at Bay Port?
“I’ve never been a guy that loved the spotlight or attention, so I’d prefer to just be known as an easy-going guy.”

“Swim in the ocean.”

“In my car or in the shower I am, but outside of that, not at all.”
