What is it like to be a leader on the volleyball team at Ashwaubenon High School? “Our team consists of nine seniors, all of which have been playing together for a while. We all take part in being leaders and stepping up when needed. The one thing that is so great about our team is there's always someone to turn to and lift the team up. To be one of these leaders is an honor and my role is keeping a positive attitude and everyone in the game.”
What is your most embarrassing moment ever in volleyball? “I have had many embarrassing moments in volleyball. My worst would probably be from sophomore year when I was pulled up to play varsity. I really didn't play much but I was put in for some reason to serve. I was so excited, but my nerves were really going. I went back to the serving line and ended up serving the ball underneath the net. All of my friends were watching the game from the bleachers and I remember looking up at them and they were all laughing hysterically.”
How many years have you been involved in volleyball? “I first started playing in seventh grade and from there started playing club as well. So, a total of six years.”
What is your most memorable moment? “A moment that will always stick with me is last year when we beat De Pere. We had quite the rivalry with them; considering we hadn't beaten them in over 10 years. This win meant so much and proved that we could do anything we really set our minds to.”
What's the hardest part about performing in a volleyball match? “The hardest part for me is making a mistake after an original mistake. You have to bounce back from it, keeping in mind that volleyball is a game of errors. It's alright to make some.”
If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be? “I would be Vincent Van Gogh. It would be amazing to see his perception of the world and how he saw everything.”
What is your sports routine before a big game starts? “While getting ready before a game, I always make sure I have two ponytails in my hair and that my lucky penny is in my sock.”
Do you have a nickname or something a teammate calls you during a game? “If I'm not being called Allison, then it's either Nitti or Nitts.”
What is one thing that other teammates or coaches don't know about you? “I take an interest in art and have received two blue ribbons-one for best painting and another for best in ceramics.”
Winning individual honors or a big team win? “A big team win beats individual honors for sure.”
What are your college aspirations? “I have plans to attend a four-year college and pursue a degree in education.”
What would your dream job be once you graduate? “I would love to easily find a high school position teaching art.”
What are your hobbies? “I enjoy photography, writing and hanging out with friends.”
What is your favorite event ever attended? “I really enjoyed going and watching Kesha perform at Summerfest.”
What is your favorite type of music? “I enjoy all genres of music and don't really prefer one over another.”
What is your favorite thing to do on your phone? “Probably scrolling through Twitter.”
What three words describe you? “Creative, different, and kind.”
What is your favorite trip ever taken? “Over the summer my family and I drove to Washington, and on the way did a lot of sightseeing. Yellowstone park is by far the best place I have ever seen.”
TV or Outdoor Activities? “Outdoor activities.”
