GREEN BAY – The Green Bay women's basketball team is predicted to finish second in the Horizon League, with defending champion IUPUI dubbed the preseason favorite with all 12 first-place votes.
Caitlyn Hibner is the lone honoree for Green Bay ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, earning a second-team nod from the conference.
Hibner finished as a third-team member a season ago after averaging 9.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.
It marks the first time in more than a decade the Phoenix women were not selected by the conference as preseason favorites.
The last time Green Bay wasn't favored to win the league was during the 2007-08 season when the team finished 17-1 in conference play and 26-6 overall.
Green Bay edged out Wright State by two points in this year’s poll, finishing with 120 to the Raiders' 118.
Horizon League play is scheduled to begin Saturday, Dec. 12, with all 12 teams in action.
The 2021 Horizon League men's and women's basketball championship is scheduled to culminate at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis.
The preseason poll and teams were voted on by the league's head coaches.
