People of Brown County-Jim Kelly

Posted

Jim Kelly's career as a draftsman at Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee spanned 38 years before he retired in 2010.

During that time, he enjoyed spending his days downtown in the city's famed Clock Tower Building, where his future wife, Connie, also worked.

The two have spent the last 10 or so years traveling to Green Bay for summer weekends to stay in a home they inherited from a family member.

It was only a year ago they, along with their two spoiled cats, decided to make Green Bay their permanent residence.

Jim said what he enjoys most about being here is the balance of big-city feel and small town charm that Green Bay offers.

"It's a slower pace here. People actually talk to each other," he said. "It has a sense of still being a small town, but it's definitely got some things you see in a big city."
