Pass It Forward Intern Spotlight: Spring 2023 participant Mara Allen

I’m currently working as the public affairs intern for the Green Bay Packers, a role that calls for strong writing skills and sharp attention to detail — both of which I had the chance to hone during my two years in the Pass It Forward program.

A fun full-circle moment: I first met both of my current bosses when they visited the Press Times during my internship, and two years later, we reconnected during the interview process for the position I hold today.

Being involved in the Pass It Forward program for two years was a great opportunity.

I was able to sharpen my writing and proofreading skills, gain hands-on experience in the field and work on some really cool stories that became great additions to my portfolio.
