SUAMICO – Clay Pallex, son of Dean and Melissa Pallex and member of Troop 1093 Suamico, will receive his Eagle Scout Rank at a court of honor ceremony Saturday, Dec. 2 at Suamico United Methodist Church.

To meet Eagle Scout requirements, scouts must earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, demonstrate leadership skills and successfully complete a community service project before their eighteenth birthday.

Pallex is receiving his Eagle Scout Rank at the impressive age of 14.

Pallex has earned 26 merit badges and has held various leadership positions while in Boy Scouts including troop librarian, den chief (serving two Cub Scout dens) and senior patrol leader.

He has also achieved the following certifications and awards: den chief training, Order of the Arrow Ordeal member, National Youth Leadership Training and the den chief service award.

“My most memorable moment was earning my Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge,” Pallex said. “I volunteered to serve on staff for a special needs Scout camp and I will never forget the smiles on their faces from the joy of getting to go to camp.”

For his Eagle Scout community service project, Pallex chose to construct arbors for the gardens at Green Bay’s NEW Community Shelter, the only emergency shelter in Brown County open year-round to adult men and women.

“Clay is an amazing leader and the project worked out great,” said NEW Community Shelter Special Projects Coordinator Kari Watt. “I truly loved working with him.”
