Our Local Flair: Meenakshi and Jagbir Rattu Taste of India
Meenakshi and Jagbir Rattu
Taste of India, Ashwaubenon
Meenaksshi Rattu and her husband Jaguar took over Taste of India in 2008 when it was located on Waube Lane, just west of Hwy. 41.
Meenakshi, who runs the front of the house while her husband handles chef duties, said the restaurant’s move to Oneida Street between Marvelle Lane and Cormier Road helped Taste of India grow its customer base just by its proximity to Lambeau Field.
She said being one of the first truly ethnic restaurants in the area, it took a moment for Taste of India to catch on but, now that people here have had a taste of the cuisine, or once they travel elsewhere and have Indian food maybe in a bigger city, they know there’s a place right here that does it right.
