ONEIDA NATION – The 2025-26 Oneida Nation royalty was crowned at the Oneida Hotel on June 17.

Selected from two candidates for Miss Oneida 2025 was Mia Charnon.

Charnon works for the Oneida newspaper — the Kalihwisaks.

Seventeen-year-old Wileena Bigjohn was crowned Junior Miss Oneida out of four contestants.

Bigjohn is an entering senior at the Oneida Nation High School.

Eleven-year-old Marley Fontaine was crowned Lil Miss Oneida out of three contestants.

Fontaine is a West De Pere Intermediate School six grader.

“Oneida Royalty are the Oneida Nation’s official ambassadors and will represent nation at a number of public events this summer and throughout their reign. The first big event they will be attending and introduced to the community is in 10 days at the Oneida Pow Wow where they will lead the procession of Indigenous royalty,” an Oneida Nation release stated.

“Oneida Royalty is selected for the qualities of beauty from within and their knowledge of the Oneida culture and traditions. These young women have responsibilities to share their knowledge, represent the nation, and be role models for all while they wear the crown.”
