Notre Dame Academy students to learn online after spring break

GREEN BAY – Notre Dame Academy said its top priority is to keep students, faculty and staff healthy and safe as it faces the unprecedented coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

As a preventative measure, Notre Dame Academy will be continuing instruction following its spring break using an online learning platform. The school’s spring break is from March 9-13.

“Because Notre Dame Academy was one of the first schools in the area to have spring break, and we had a significant percentage of our students returning from travel throughout the United States and the world, we felt the most prudent decision was to move to an online learning platform for the period in time,” Notre Dame Academy Principal Patrick Browne said.

Faculty will train and plan for using an online learning platform Monday, March 16.

Students will begin using it to receive instruction Tuesday, March 17, and will continue to do so through Friday, March 27.

This period may be extended, depending on local and national conditions.

Notre Dame Academy will communicate by March 26 whether it can resume in-person classes March 30.

All athletic events/practices and extra-curricular activities will be suspended through Friday, March 27.

Notre Dame Academy administration is in communication with its CatholicLink partners (Green Bay Area Catholic Education and St. Norbert College), as well as the Brown County Health Department as it assess options moving forward.
