Zach Luepke is a senior at Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran High School.

He was the leading rusher on the co-op football team this past fall with more than 500 yards of total offense.

On the hardwood this winter, Luepke is averaging five points a game thus far.

What’s your favorite thing about attending a small, private school?

“The personal relationships I am able to build with my peers, teachers and the staff at N.E.W.”

What’s it like to be a senior leader on the basketball team? 

“It comes with lots of responsibility and pressure, but it’s an awesome experience being able to give back to the program as someone the younger guys look up to and learn from.”

What’s your most embarrassing sports moment?

“In fourth-grade basketball when I tried to inbound the ball to myself.”

What’s your most memorable moment?

“Despite losing 79-69, playing in the sectional final basketball game last year with two of my best friends. I have been close with Jacob Champeau and Samuel Meerstein since before attending school.”

If you came into a huge sum of money, how would you share your wealth?

“I would share some with my mom and dad, give a little to my friends, invest some into the stock market and stick the rest into a savings account to use later in life.”

What's your favorite thing about playing for a Hall of Fame coach in Mark Meerstein? 

“His ability to stay calm in big moments, along with his impressive amount of knowledge about the game.”

If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be? 

“Elon Musk.”

If you could conduct any science experiment in class, what would it be?

“The polymerization of sodium alginate.”

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

“I enjoy cooking venison, chicken and beef.”

What will be the best thing about this year's basketball team?

“Our ability to run the floor and push one another to be the best players we can.”

If you were in charge of the technology department, what devices would you increase at your school?

“New laptops and more three-dimensional printers.”

What are your college aspirations? 

“I plan to study accounting and compete in football.”

What would your dream job be once you graduate? 

“To work as a certified public accountant keeping and inspecting financial records for large companies.”

Favorite drill in practice?

“Monster rebounding in basketball and the Oklahoma drill for football.”

What are your hobbies? 

“Hunting, fishing, woodworking and weightlifting.”

If you could create one mandatory class for upcoming seniors, what would it be?

“An automotive mechanic course. Everyone should be capable of doing basic maintenance and repairs on their own vehicle.”

What’s your favorite type of music? 

“I enjoy listening to lots of different genres, but my favorite is rock.”

Favorite thing to do at football games with friends on Friday nights? 

“Talk about college football.”

Favorite podcast?

“The Porch.”

What’s your favorite trip taken? 

“My family’s trip to Disney when I was in the fourth grade.”

What’s your favorite basketball team?

“The Milwaukee Bucks.”

How can a coach or teacher get you to maximize your potential as an athlete or student?

“Personally, I respond well to challenges, both in the classroom and on the court/field. Teachers/coaches can maximize my potential by challenging me.”
