Meulemans recently signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her basketball career at Division I Butler University.

Her hobbies include swimming, running, hanging with friends and family and watching movies.

Meulemans describes herself as being dedicated and hard-working and loves listening to country music.

She said she pushes her teammates in practice to be their best and get better.

“If we work hard as a team and persevere, great things will happen for us,” she said.

Talk about competing in the Fox River Classic Conference (FRCC) and the impact you want to make as a senior.

“The FRCC has strong teams and talented players. As a senior, I want my hard work, determination and love for the game to show against every opponent.”

“Moving schools to become a Redbird.”

What’s your most embarrassing basketball moment?

“I got hit in the face with a basketball during warm-ups before a high school game.”

Describe senioritis.

“It’s being excited for college next year and looking forward to playing basketball at the next level.”

Run or walk a scenic trail?

“Walk, so I can take in the view.”

What’s something you learned in the past week?

“To not take anything for granted and always keep working hard.”

Do you root for the favorite or the underdog in March Madness?

“The favorite but I'm usually wrong.”

What's your favorite thing about playing for Head Coach Jeremy Boileau?

“He trusts me as a player and gives me the freedom to make choices in the moment as I'm playing.”

Talk about a volunteer experience where you helped someone out.

“I raked leaves and did yard work for elderly people who couldn’t do it themselves.”

If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be?

“LeBron (James) because I’d love to experience what it feels like to play how he plays and to play against other professional players.”

What's the most creative excuse you've used to get out of homework?

“My arm is broken, so I can’t write or type.”

What’s one thing other teammates or coaches don’t know about you?

What’s the most important quality in a friendship?

“Loyalty because trust is everything in any relationship.”

Favorite basketball picture you've kept?

Between the legs dribble or around the back?

“Around the back.”

How does the game come so easy for you?

“Ever since I was in elementary school, I practiced my skills any chance I could get into a gym or near a hoop. I work hard when I shoot and have the determination to keep getting better. I watch lots of college and professional basketball as well, and I try to emulate things I see on the court.”

What’s your favorite thing to do on a trip?

“See and try new things.”

What dreams do you have for the world of tomorrow?
