Tell me about your family.

“I have an older sister named Corinne who graduated from Notre Dame three years ago and is currently at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. My dad is from Janesville, and my mom grew up north near Ironwood, Michigan.”

Do you come from a sports family?

“Corinne is a redshirt sophomore playing volleyball, my mom did it all in high school and my dad played football, basketball and baseball in high school and baseball at UW-Oshkosh.”

What’s it like playing football for head coach Mike Rader?

“He’s an excellent coach and has a great offensive mind. He expects a lot out of us and has gotten me to where I am today.”

You’re a good golfer, too.

“Golf was my main sport coming into high school, and I was thinking I could play in college. My best year was my freshman year, and we made it to state my sophomore year. After this season concludes next spring, I’ll be playing for fun.”

What’s your favorite local course?

“Brown County – it’s cheap and a good, quality course.”

What are your goals for this golf season?

“To get to state and win the conference.”

You’re 6-foot-2 and 270 pounds – do people question how you can be such a good football player and golfer at the same time?

“I say, ‘It’s pretty funny seeing a big boy swing the golf club like I do, isn’t it?’”

Did you ever try any other sports at Notre Dame?

“I played basketball my freshman year, but then I began concentrating on football and golf.”

How do you balance sports and academics?

“It’s not easy, especially at a school like Notre Dame. Honestly, when I’m in a sport, my academics are better. I have to use my time wiser.”

Do you have a most memorable sports moment?

“Beating West De Pere my sophomore year, 28-7. We weren't supposed to win.”

Do you have an embarrassing moment?

“When my sister was a senior and I was a freshman, at the halftime of a game, I had to come down to the field and sing ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’ in front of the student section.”

Do you have a favorite family vacation?

“In the fourth grade, we went to Hawaii and stayed at a Disney resort.”

What is your dream job?

“To become a financial planner.”

What three words describe you?

“Dedicated, genuine, honest.”

What are two things you’ll miss about Notre Dame?

“All my friends and Spanish class.”

How will you be remembered at Notre Dame?

“Probably as the big guy who minded his own business, didn’t throw himself out there to lots of people and was a nice person.”
