Haley Ehmke was a two-sport athlete, running track and playing soccer, during her four years at Ashwaubenon High School.

You played soccer during your first two years of high school. Do you remember your first goal?
“After the ball hit the back of the net, my adrenaline was rushing, and I ran over to a teammate and gave her a giant hug.”
When you turned to track, you qualified for the WIAA state meet as a junior.
“I wouldn’t have believed I’d make it to state. Standing on the track looking into the stands was a memory I’ll never forget. It was breathtaking and nerve-racking at the same time.”
What’s your most embarrassing track and field moment?
“When I ran my first-ever 400-meter dash and didn’t know what a good time it was. Everyone was giving me high-fives and cheering, and I asked, ‘Was that good?’”
Chicken or turkey?
“Chicken.”
If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be?
“One of my good friends, Claudia Toonen, because sometimes I wonder what goes through her head.”
What’s your favorite phone app?
“TikTok.”
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
“I didn’t act like it all the time, but I’m a super-competitive person and love to win.”
Talk about your family.
“They’ve always been there to encourage me to be my best and stuck by my side with whatever I wanted to do. They influenced me into the person I am and allowed me to follow my dreams.”
What are your college aspirations?
“I plan to run track and field at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I want to beat my record in the 400.”
Cereal or toast?
“Toast.”
Flying or driving with friends on a 2,000-mile trip?
“Driving.”
How difficult was it seeing your track season end due to the COVID-19 pandemic?
“It was hard because I didn't get to run a single meet. Having a sport you love during your senior year taken away was hard.”
If you could attend the World Cup (soccer), what city would you want to visit?
“Berlin, Germany. Soccer is the main sport in European countries. I feel I’d get the best game-day experience there.”
Who’s your favorite track and field athlete?
“Dave Coates. He never gave up to achieve his goals and pushed me to achieve mine.”
Favorite move in soccer?
“The tornado was always one of my favorites as a kid.”

“Cancun.”

“200-yard sprints.”
