Ben Busick was a member of the De Pere boys’ golf team which edged out Sheboygan North by one point to win the 2021 Fox River Classic Conference championship.
During the season, he had three sub-40 scores.
Busick perhaps saved his best for sectionals, where his 73 at Thornberry Creek at Oneida gave him a share of medalist honors.
With his score and three other solid performances from his teammates, the Redbirds won the title by 10 strokes over West De Pere.
At the WIAA state meet, Busick fired rounds of 82 and 76 (which included three birdies) on the Wild Rock Golf Club in Wisconsin Dells to help place De Pere ninth among 16 teams in Division 1.
