Aria Van De Hei is a senior on the Bay Area Ice Bears girls’ hockey team, which is comprised of players from 11 area schools.

She’s also on the golf team at West De Pere High School.

Discuss playing for the Ice Bears and meeting girls from different high schools in the area.

“It’s fun. It’s one of the best things about playing for the Ice Bears.”

What’s your most embarrassing hockey moment?

“Playing goalie when I was younger and falling in the net when no one was near me.”

The team went through a stretch last season where it didn't win in seven games. How does the team stay together during losing streaks?

“I was out with a concussion a majority of last year. We had good vibes in the locker room and made sure we worked as a team to get back to our winning ways.”

What’s your most memorable moment?

“Scoring during a state game.”

What’s the coolest art project you've done in school?

“Creating a ceiling tile in middle school which was hung up.”

What professional sport do you and your friends talk about the most?

“Hockey.”

Talk about your family and how they have supported you.

“My mom and dad come to every game. My brother and sister also attend my games occasionally.”

What’s your dream vehicle?

“A matte black Camaro.”

Who’s the savviest social media teacher?

“Mrs. Dorner.”

What’s something about you most people don’t know?

“I don’t like chocolate.”

What are your college aspirations?

“Go to school for international business or become an accountant.”

How did you get started playing sports? 

“My older siblings have always played sports.”

What’s the most enjoyable book you've read? 

“’Of Mice and Men.’”

What’s been your favorite school field trip?

“Our Washington D.C. trip in the eighth grade.”

What are your hobbies? 

“Golf, hanging out with friends and kayaking.”

Georgia.”

What three words describe you?

“Caring, fun, understanding.”

What team do you enjoy playing? 

“The Fox Cities Stars.”

If your team was given an unlimited budget to throw an event at school, what would it be?

“A pep rally with a slip ‘n slide because it would be fun, creative and bring everyone together.”

Who’s your favorite pro hockey player?

“Sidney Crosby.”

What sport at West De Pere could you excel at if you put the time in?

“Golf.”

What teammate would thrive on CNN?

“Madison Anderson.”

What school tradition are you most proud of?

“Homecoming week.”
