At what age did you start playing your main sport?
I started playing basketball at nine years old.
Who introduced you to the sport?
My dad introduced me to the sport.
Has this always been your favorite sport?
Yes, basketball has always been my favorite sport.
How has the balance between academics and athletics changed for you from freshman to senior year?
Throughout my four years of high school I have gained experience with time management between my sport and my school work.
What is your favorite part about this sport?
My favorite part about basketball is the teamwork aspect of the game. I love working with my teammates to get better and work towards different goals.
What about it has caused you to stick with it for this long?
I have continued to play basketball because of my love for the sport and I have always looked forward to improving my skills.
Is there a professional athlete you look up to? If so, why?
I don’t look up to one specific athlete, but different athletes have inspired me in different ways.
What would you say is your biggest asset on the court/field/pool?
My biggest asset on the court is my shooting.
What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?
My most memorable experience in my high school sport so far has been the Youth Nights when we get to sign the playing cards for the young kids.
How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?
Looking back throughout high school I’m really going to take away that if you commit yourself to something good things can happen, I’m also proud of the fact that I was able to play varsity all four years of high school.
Do you have any pre-match rituals/routines/superstitions?
Before all my games I like to take just a few minutes to myself to collect my thoughts and get mentally ready for the game.
Do you take any extra steps to prepare for a big match/game/meet, outside of regular practices?
On days of a bigger game, I take about 30 minutes to get some extra shots up.
Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to shout out?
Mark Kirst, he was my youth coach all the way up to eighth grade. He was a phenomenal coach and always instilled confidence in his players.
Any hobbies outside of sports?
Outside of sports I enjoy coloring and doing different little crafts.
Favorite song?
“Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars.
Sports drinks like Gatorade and Powerade or water?
Gatorade and water.
Future Plans? (college, major, career, etc.)
In the future, I plan to go to NWTC for ultrasound.
