NDA receives grant for Health and Wellness Center

Posted

GREEN BAY – Notre Dame Academy (NDA) has been granted $250,000 from the Packers Give Back Award to support its future Health and Wellness Center.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Green Bay Packers Give Back program for this generous $250,000 Impact Grant. The Packers organization has long demonstrated a deep commitment to strengthening communities across Wisconsin, and this investment in Notre Dame Academy reflects that shared commitment to the well-being and development of young people,” Amy M. Ott, president of Notre Dame Academy, said.

The $250,000 Impact Grant from the Green Bay Packers Give Back program is a significant step toward NDA’s goal to make the Health and Wellness Center vision a reality.

Notre Dame Academy’s Health and Wellness Center has been a part of the Investing in the Future: The Strategic Plan of Notre Dame Academy 2022-26 strategic plan since 2022.

Within the plan’s key priorities under the Student Pillar, the plan expands on health, wellness and arts programming for students.

“NDA views itself as a partner with families in preparing young people for college, life and leadership. Supporting the development of the whole student includes opportunities for faith formation, academic excellence, the arts, athletics and programs that promote lifelong health and well-being,” Ott said.

“As part of the strategic plan, NDA committed to partnering with experts to develop a Health and Wellness Center that would serve all students. The goal was not simply to add a facility, but to strengthen programming that supports physical health, mental wellness and healthy lifestyle habits for our entire student body.”

NDA launched the Investing in the Future capital campaign to receive support for the strategic plan initiatives.

Within that campaign, the initial goal for the Health and Wellness Center was $1 million. Ott says that NDA is grateful to have reached that goal in October of 2025; however, the goal expanded to $2 million. When progress was made and the Boards, along with the Building and Grounds Committee, evaluated the project, it became clear that additional resources would be needed.

“Because we are still more than a year away from construction, many of the details are still being finalized. We hope to break ground in 2027,” Ott starts, “As the project develops, we will continue working with our leadership teams and community partners to ensure the center supports the evolving needs of our students.”

According to Amy M. Ott, success for this initiative will be measured by the impact it has on students.

If this space helps students build healthy habits, understand the importance of caring for both body and mind, and supports their growth in mind, body and spirit, then it has fulfilled its purpose.

The future of the Health and Wellness Center will serve the entire NDA student body by providing enhanced space for physical education, wellness initiatives, and athletics.

Support for broader student health will also be sought after in the future. It will allow NDA to continue strengthening programs that support students’ development of healthy lifestyles related to well-being, resilience and personal responsibility.

“We are very grateful to the Green Bay Packers Give Back program for helping move this important initiative forward and for their continued investment in the greater Green Bay community,” Ott said.
