Laura Rain & The Caesars

How would you describe your music?
Funky retro soul and R&B.

What inspires you to create music?
What inspires me is the very idea itself to create. Where the inspiration comes from is multifaceted. It is more of a compelling drive to complete different works of art than an inspiration, as I feel my purpose is to write and perform music.

What is your favorite part of performing live?
Connecting with people. We have a chance to make a difference in their lives for a few moments in time.

What are you most looking forward to audiences hearing/experiencing at your concert?
I look forward to delivering the positive uplifting message in many of our songs, and also the good vibes from getting up and dancing to a funky beat. I want people to feel joy be energized from our show.

Jill Grohusky

How would you describe your music?
While classically trained in Westernized art music, my soul has always been found in the realm of Folk & Americana with a bit of a Pop-style mixed in. Being a multi-instrumentalist, with harp, piano, and the occasional ukulele song for good measure, I love lending my vocals to various styles that help each instrument shine; be it a soft, folk melody with the harp or a harder-hitting, soulful tune with keys.

What inspires you to create music?
Life. Our stories of heartbreak and tribulation, challenge and success, and all the wonderful in-betweens. I will never tire of writing songs based on lived experiences with the hope that those words may resonate with another at a time when they need to hear them.

What is your favorite part of performing live?

There is no greater feeling to me than being the simple conduit for collective effervescence; that moment where we come together and feel connected through a song. To see it happen when on stage is everything.

What are you most looking forward to audiences hearing/experiencing at your concert?
A musical experience that isn’t being played AT you, but TO you, and a space to feel a little freer for a while.
