Six Foot Blonde

How would you describe your music?

We’re an indie rock band that fuses ‘90s alt textures with modern pop melody.

What inspires you to create music?

Since the band formed, we’ve been most inspired to create and perform together because of our live shows. We started as a live band first, playing three gigs a month as college students at our local bar. Music’s ability to form connections and community is at the core of why we create together, and we think that really comes through in our songs live.

What is your favorite part of performing live?

For a lot of us, it is the immediacy of our impact that makes performing live so special. To be an escape for people and to curate a joyful space really feels powerful, especially when you can see it on someone’s face. That energy translates directly to us on stage. Again, It’s that connective aspect between us and the audience that really drives us.

What are you most looking forward to audiences hearing/experiencing at your concert?

We’ve got a few new songs we’ve been workshopping that we’re eager to play for them. We’ve also spent a lot of time reworking and reimagining parts within our set that really come alive on stage. The audience is definitely in for a fun, dance-filled set leading up to Brigitte Calls Me Baby.

Shawndell Marks

How would you describe your music?

Lush piano pop and warm vocals with an electronic, cinematic flair. Think Norah Jones and Hania Rani meets Fleetwood Mac.

What inspires you to create music?

Distilling and reframing personal experiences to help make sense of the world; other people’s stories.

What is your favorite part of performing live?

I feel incredibly lucky that making music allows me to bring people together, creating moments of joy, connection, and sometimes even deep emotion. It’s a privilege to be part of something that touches hearts and unites communities.

What are you most looking forward to audiences hearing/experiencing at your concert?

I’m excited to share a new song that emerged during a significant life transition. It’s been a space of exploration for me — especially with synth textures — and I’ve really fallen in love with how the layered sounds can express things words often can’t.

Brigitte Calls Me Baby

The music of Brigitte Calls Me Baby is equal parts elegant time warp and up-close exploration of our modern-day neuroses.

The Chicago-based band ingeniously spans genres and eras, merging the lavish romanticism of mid-century pop with the frenetic energy and spiky intensity of early-millennium indie-rock. Centered on lead singer Wes Leavins’ hypnotically crooning vocal work, the result is a rare convergence of sophistication and style and unabashed sincerity.

Brigitte Calls Me Baby possesses a singular musicality informed by Leavins’ eclectic upbringing. Originally from the Southeast Texas town of Port Arthur, he grew up listening to Roy Orbison records at his grandparents’ house next door, while his parents played him new-wave bands like The Cars and his friends turned him onto Radiohead and The Strokes.

At age 13, Leavins took up guitar and began writing songs of his own, quickly discovering his distinct vocal style.
