How would you describe your music?
My music is pop, smooth jazz and R&B.
What inspires you to create music?
Every time I compose a song, my goal is to create a sound and story that every one in the world can relate to. I call it my universal approach. Let’s take my song “CELL FONE SONG.” People all over the world have a cell phone. So I wanted to write a pop/ R&B song that the world of cell phone owners could relate to. My song “GOTTA HAVE MONEY” (both of which I will be performing) hints at the fact that no one seems to want to say it, but we all know it — you gotta have money to live in this world. It’s my universal approach to song composition.
What is your favorite part of performing live?
My absolute favorite part of performing live is when a gimmick, a sound, a dance move, etc., that I have rehearsed is well received by my audience. It can also be something spontaneous too. It’s all about being in control of the audience having a magical and musical good time. Since music cannot be seen, like a magician, the musician has to pull a rabbit out of his musical hat. “And I got lots of rabbits.”
What are you most looking forward to audiences hearing/experiencing at your concert?
I normally perform cover songs to crowds in venues that simply reward me with a check. Generally, the audiences there are not looking to see how deep your musical soul goes. So I am excited to shine some light on my musical depth.
