GREEN BAY – A conditional use permit to build a luxury hotel exceeding the maximum height limitations at the site of the former Brett Favre’s Steakhouse received final approval Tuesday, May 7, from the Green Bay Common Council.

According to the project description, the planned five-story hotel to be called the Legacy at 1004 Brett Favre Pass will have 79 guest rooms comprised of 65 studio suites, 11 classic suites and three grand suites.

There will also be a lobby bar and restaurant on the main level, as well as a smaller bar and rooftop patio on the fifth floor. The hotel will also feature two meeting rooms, a wellness center and a fitness center.

Located just east of the village of Ashwaubenon, the hotel roof height will be approximately 75 feet.

A permit was required with the maximum height limitation in the city’s Planned Unit Development/General Commercial district being 35 feet.

City Zoning Administrator Paul Neumeyer stated in his report to the council that the hotel will be “a complement to the existing developments in the area and will contribute to the continued transformation of the area from a one-time industrial development to a commercial destination consistent with the City’s Comprehensive Plan and the Legends District Master Plan.”

Brett Favre’s Steakhouse had been constructed on the site in 1998.
