ASHWAUBENON – Ashwaubenon, Door County United and De Pere competed at the Tri-School Girls’ Swimming Invite Feb. 27 at the Ashwaubenon Community Pool.
Door County took home the tight victory with 663 points, while Ashwaubenon (651) and De Pere (534) also had strong showings.
Ashwaubenon lost points after one of its 200-yard freestyle relay teams was disqualified.
Ashwaubenon’s Hallory Domnick won two individual events (100 butterfly and 500 freestyle) and was a part of the winning 200 freestyle relay team.
Sienna Nitka also won two individual events (200 freestyle and 100 backstroke) and was also a member of the 200 freestyle relay for the Jaguars.
Normally, girls’ swimming is a fall sport, but because of COVID-19, the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association offered an alternate spring season schools could take advantage of this year.
The Ashwaubenon and De Pere school districts postponed their fall sports last year to this spring.
Swimming practice began Feb. 8.
Top-two results include:
200 freestyle: Sienna Nitke, ASH, first, 1:54.63.

Editor's note: Here is an excerpt from Domnick's National Letter of Intent signing with Division I Northern Iowa ...
Domnick won the state championship in the WIAA Division 2 500 freestyle last season.
Despite Domnick’s recruiting visits taking a hit because the school district moved all its fall sports – including swimming – to the spring because of COVID-19, she signed her National Letter of Intent Nov. 13 to compete for the University of Northern Iowa (UNI), a Division I school in Cedar Falls.
“I chose UNI because it felt like home to me,” said Domnick. “The community shows up on game day to support the athletes. It was a great fit for me after meeting with the coaches and swimmers.”
