The historic Tarlton Theatre will present its second annual Keys to the City, a free, live art and music festival, celebrating the painting of pianos across our community.
Seven donated pianos will be moved to public locations throughout Green Bay in partnership with seven neighborhood associations, all of which will be painted live by local painters on Sunday, May 18, between 12-6 p.m. and accompanied by live music.
The festival will culminate in the unveiling of seven new, interactive, sculptural artworks throughout our city which will be playable and on display through September.
Keys to the City is a part of The Tarlton Theatre’s mission to provide affordable arts and cultural offerings to the community and in all of its neighborhoods.
Painters were selected for their artistic contributions to The Tarlton Theatre’s signature Art War live painting competitions, held quarterly at Green Bay’s historic westside showplace.
Painters’ piano designs will incorporate the history and identity of their respective neighborhoods.
