What is it like to be a leader on the Ashwaubenon dance team? “It is sometimes difficult to get the team to understand their potential, but it is very rewarding to have other girls look up to me.”

What is your most embarrassing moment ever in dance? “We were at summer camp my freshman year and we had to complete a routine that we had already prepared. It was my first time performing with the team, and during one of the kicks, I fell to the ground. I didn't know my coach that well, and I thought he was going to be so mad at me. He just laughed it off and still makes fun of me for it today.”

How many years have you been involved in dance? “I had never had dance experience prior to trying out for the team my freshman year, and I'm a senior now. So, this is my fourth year.”

What is your most memorable moment in dance? “Last year our team took a trip to Disney World to compete in a Contest of Champions, national dance competition. As a team, we made so many lasting memories. We had fun in Disney, and we won the competition with our Pom routine. It was a perfect end to a fantastic year.”

What's the hardest part about dance? “Self-confidence. I haven't been dancing for very long, so I get very nervous that I will mess up a performance before I perform.”

If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be? “The President of the United States. So I could better understand their responsibilities and appreciate everything they do.”

What are your college aspirations? “I plan on attending the University of Stevens Point, to hopefully major in dietetics. I also plan on trying out for their dance team next fall.”

What would your dream job be once you graduate? “I would love to be a dietician for a professional sports team.”

What are your hobbies? “When I don't have dance, I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy watching movies and going out to eat. I am also a part of the track and field team at school. I throw shotput and discus.”

What is your favorite sporting event ever attended? “One year for Christmas my whole family went to a Packer game. It was so much fun because it was a change from the normal holiday tradition.”

What is your favorite type of music? “Anything on the radio, even country!”

What is your favorite thing to do on your phone? “Check twitter and snapchat”

What three words describe you? “Determined, lively, loyal”

What is your favorite trip ever taken? “This past summer I had the chance to travel to Germany through a school exchange program. I got to experience the culture and atmosphere of a different country while making friends from across the world. Those are memories that will last a lifetime.”

Comments on Julia Perock: “She is a strong leader and willing to get the girls back on track when they need that push,” said Drew Meinel, Ashwaubenon Dance Coach. “In practice, she is very confident in her abilities, wants the team to succeed in competitions, and points out details of each routine to us coaches after performances.”
