HOWARD – After meeting in closed session Monday, Jan. 13, the village board approved the sale of a single-family residential lot at 1410 Co Co’s Run to a developer known as Green Viper LLC for $52,500, said Village Administrator Paul Evert.

He said the lot was purchased by the developer to build a spec house.

The village created the residential lot and Valley Brooke Park when it went through the process of vacating a portion of Co Co’s Run and Graceland Terrace.

The board decided to sell the lot with the proceeds of the sale helping fund new playground equipment for the park located near where a cul-de-sac was eliminated.

Last August, the board approved the purchase of around $40,000 worth of playground equipment.

Survey map

In other action, the board approved a certified survey map for Hurrish Development at 2790 Belle Plane Road.

The applicant, Steve Hurrish, requested the CSM to create a new single-family lot.

Back-up days

In the event there isn’t enough ice on the Bay of Green Bay in a month to hold the Battle of the Bay snowmobile races Feb. 14-15, the board agreed to designate back-up days of Feb. 28-29 for granting Cold Speed Racing LLC (Watering Hole) a temporary Class B retailer’s license to sell beer and wine at the event.

For the birds

With the last Friday in April being International Migratory Bird Day, the board approved a resolution to acknowledge that and urge all citizens to celebrate the observance and “support efforts to protect and conserve migratory birds and their habitats in our community and the world at large.”
