HOWARD – The fifth annual Howard Community Fireworks Show on June 29 will light up more than just the sky this year.
Activities for all ages are planned at two locations in the hours leading up to the professional display hosted by Spielbauer Fireworks Company.
Big Mouth and the Power Tool Horns will rock the audience from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Village Center, located at Howard Commons and Elm Tree Hill. Food and beverage trucks also will be on hand for the concert.
Family friendly activities and games will be available from 6 to 9 p.m. at Meadowbrook Park.
Food, refreshments, and an ice cream truck also will be on site.
Howard decided to host an Independence Day fireworks display in 2014 due to a growing number of requests from residents wishing to have a family friendly event in their own community.
The celebration has become an annual event and has grown each year.
Free parking will be available at Meadowbrook Elementary School and Meadowbrook Church, both located on Hillcrest Heights, and the West Side YMCA and Green Bay Community Church, both located on Cardinal Lane.
The fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m. and will be visible from these and other areas around Meadowbrook Park, including the Village Center.
