INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Natalie McNeal has been named Under Armour Horizon League Player of the Week! It is the third time in her Green Bay career and the second time this season she has won the award.
McNeal played a big part in Green Bay going 2-0 this past weekend with victories over Youngstown State (58-50) and Robert Morris (78-48).
Against the Penguins last Thursday, she led all players with 17 points while playing 38 minutes. She made three free throws down the stretch to help secure the win.
On Saturday versus the Colonials, McNeal recorded her 10th career double-double – eighth with Green Bay – by posting 22 points (which led all players) and 18 rebounds (also led all players). She was a perfect six-for-six from the charity stripe and also tallied five assists, one shy of her career-high. McNeal became the first Green Bay player to record at least 18 rebounds in a game since Kim Wood vs. Youngstown State on February 25, 1993. Nat is also the first GB player to grab exactly 18 rebounds since Wood did so on January 5, 1993, against Nebraska.
In the conference, McNeal ranks 7th in scoring (14.1 PPG), 7th in rebounds (6.3 RPG), and 3rd in field goal percentage (43.9 percent).
Green Bay is back in action this week with a pair of home games. The Phoenix will welcome Detroit Mercy on Thursday (6 PM) and Oakland on Saturday (1 PM), which is also a Festival Foods Family Day.
