Heritage Hill to host Bark in the Park event

Posted

Heritage Hill State Historical Park in partnership with the Wisconsin Humane Society will host its first ever Bark in the Park event on Aug. 23 from 2-8 p.m.

Guests are invited to bring their four-legged companions to experience Heritage Hill State Historical Park in a whole new way.

The first 100 guests will receive a commemorative souvenir upon their arrival.

Attendees can participate in a scavenger hunt, create a keepsake at Paw Prints at the Print Shop and capture memories at a photo op.

Dog-friendly competitions will kick off at 2 p.m. with a free-to-enter Fastest Dog contest, followed by the Cutest, Ugliest, Costume and Pie-Eating contests starting hourly at 3 p.m. Entry is $10 per contest or $35 to enter all four with first-come first-served registration. Food will be available to purchase from JDogz food truck along with drinks from the Heritage Hill bar.

“We are so excited to be hosting this new, free event to bring people and pets together while also supporting our community. With our large open space, Heritage Hill is the perfect location to walk your dog, meet new friends and celebrate National Dog Day,” said Diana Fligelman, director of sales and private events at Heritage Hill. “A portion of all donations received during the event will go to supporting the Wisconsin Humane Society! Come on out for the Dog Days of Summer and enjoy an evening of tail wags, good company and paws-itively unforgettable fun!”

This event is built to provide an unforgettable time of wagging tails, laughter, and historic charm while supporting Heritage Hill’s mission of preserving the past and inspiring future generations through educational programming. A portion of all cash donations made during the event will go to support Wisconsin Humane Society.
