Heart and Home Event: Packers' Savion Williams support foster youth in Green Bay

Posted

De Pere — Green Bay Packers wide receiver Savion Williams and his wife Jorden Williams hosted the Heart and Home event on Friday, Nov. 7 at Life Church in De Pere, bringing together foster children and families for an evening of fun.

The night was filled with laughter, games, and heartwarming moments as children took part in activities such as a marshmallow catapult challenge, team balloon popping contests, and other friendly competitions. “This event tonight is just a fun community event where we got foster families and families at risk together to just play games and eat and hang out as a community,” Jorden said.

Adding to the excitement, Packers defensive star Micah Parsons made a surprise appearance, joining the kids for games and competitions throughout the evening. His arrival drew smiles, making the night even more memorable for the children in attendance.

For Jorden, the event held a deeply personal meaning. Having grown up in the foster care system herself, she understands firsthand how important it is for children to feel supported and valued. “I was a foster care youth,” she said. “I just know that having a community involved just helps the kids so much because they’re often the forgotten children. So this is just a good way to get the kids together and adults together just to bring the community together.”

She also encouraged others in the Green Bay area to get involved with local foster and family support programs. When asked how the community can help Jorden said, “ Life Church is a great way to start. They are very active with foster care youth”. She added, “Safe Families is another organization that is very helpful with these children. And I think just getting involved and being there for the kids is the ultimate way to help them.”

After the event, Jorden shared a message on Instagram reflecting on the evening’s success. “What a truly wonderful night for these children, where we were able to come together as a loving community! We are so grateful that Green Bay is filled with such amazing people, families, and that the churches reflect this spirit. It warmed our hearts to see every single child embrace the chance to simply be themselves tonight. Being a foster child, a family in need, or just someone who needs a little extra love does not mean you’re forgotten.”

She closed her post by expressing hope for the future: “I hope that we can all continue to make every child feel truly seen and cherished because they are worthy of love too.”

The Williams family plans to continue hosting events, aiming to build on the community support and shared kindness that made the night so meaningful.
