GREEN BAY – The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay women's basketball team will host Minnesota at the Kress Events Center in the WNIT (Women's National Invitational Tournament) opening round at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17.
Green Bay is making its sixth WNIT appearance all-time, with Thursday's game marking the second time the Phoenix has hosted.
The last time Green Bay competed in the postseason WNIT was the 2018-19 season when it hosted Kent State.
The Phoenix fell in that game, 64-59.
Green Bay is searching for its first-ever WNIT win Thursday night against a familiar postseason foe.
Green Bay and Minnesota squared off in the first round in 2014, with Minnesota coming out on top, 62-60.
The Phoenix are 6-8 all-time against the Golden Gophers.
Tickets
General admission tickets ($10 each) will go on sale on Tuesday, March 15, at noon.
